Before any tribute can land their blow, there is a quick ripple in the shallow water, and the tributes are attacked.

Decima: While you’re running into the water towards Titus and Atlas, something wraps around your throwing wrist and one of your ankles. It constricts before jerking you off your feet, making you land face-first in the water and starts dragging you deeper out to sea.

Titus: While you’re on your back in the water, something lashes out and grabs you around the neck and around the bicep of your right arm, causing it to jerk back and prevent you from landing your blow. They begin to tighten and pull you deeper into the water.

Atlas: You get yanked off of Titus, causing you to go sprawling into the water next to him. Something grabs you around the torso and latches around your shoulder and armpit and start dragging you into the deeper water as well.

All Tributes: The things wrapping around you are a milky, iridescent color; strong, about the thickness of a sturdy rope and wherever they touch your skin, it begins to burn and feel like you are being pricked by a thousand tiny needles.

FACE-OFF: Titus & Decima & Atlas

CAPITOL: The momentum allows you to knock into Decima enough to send her stumbling backwards, but reaching to her body makes the spear gash Titus's arm enough that his journey past Decima is halted. On the other side of the island, Atlas is running towards the two of you, getting closer. Decima's turn, then Titus, then Atlas.
Decima: Stumbling backwards from the force of his push, she quickly scrambled to regain her balance, whipping her head around at the sound of the other tribute approaching. She immediately took a few steps backward swiftly, holding onto her weapons so tightly her knuckles turned white. Decima held them out in front of her, watching his every move as he approached so she would be able to defend herself.
Titus: As he moved to push Decima to the ground, he felt the blade in his arm. Feeling the blade stopped him from grabbing the axe. Titus grabbed his arm, and out of the corner of his eye spotted the other lone tribute running towards where he and the girl from eleven stood. Titus's eyes widened and he quickly shifted his gaze to the axe lying in the distance. Without it he was as good as dead. Titus sprinted as quickly as he could to where it was laying on the ground.
Atlas: Since his brain automatically associated guys as more of a threat than girls, Atlas's instincts told him that Titus must have been the one to kill Vita. Tucking the longer trident back into the straps of his pack as he ran (his net still looped around his shoulder), he held the other trident horizontally between his two fists. Jaw clenched tight, Atlas dug the balls of his feet into the sand when he thought he was close enough and lunged for titus, using his hands to ram the shaft of the trident into the other boy's ribs in an attempt to tackle him to the ground.
CAPITOL: Titus manages to get a grip on the axe at the same moment that Atlas knocks into him, and sends them both sprawling towards the water, landing with a splash into the shallow clear water. Decima's turn.

FACE-OFF: Titus & Decima & Atlas

DECIMA: As Vita fell to the ground, Decima withdrew her spear from the girl's side, quickly bending down to relieve the axe from her belt as well. Just in case she tried to do anything more with it. She eyed the boy from Five who stood a few feet back warily, gripping onto the weapons she had tightly. She couldn't use the axe; Decima knew she'd be more likely to accidentally kill herself with it than actually harm someone. But she didn't want anyone else to get their hands on it. So with a quick swing, she tossed it behind her and into the jungle. The boy from Five seemed weaponless, and he would have to get around her to get to the axe. She clutched onto her spear and knife, waiting to see if he would try to attack.
TITUS: Titus stood back and watched as the girl from two had fallen to the ground. He stayed back for a moment, waiting to see if the girl from eleven would attack. He watched as she threw the axe behind her, and realizing that it might be his only chance of survival, he took off running to get the axe. Realizing he had to run right past Decima, he ran towards her and pushed her down to the ground giving him time to get the axe.

We have decided to instate a new rule. We believe it is highly, highly unlikely for two tributes to become allies at the final moment. When their lives are at stake. We don’t believe that anybody would really take the chance of trusting someone else with their lives when only one can survive and there’s five or four left. We are waiting for Vita and Atlas to post. Atlas has given in a temporary leave while he moves away, and should be back sometime this week, hopefully. Vita, we still need your post so we can continue with Decima and Titus.

Tac, you too deserve a special mention because you’ve stuck with us through thick and thin, always ready to write and developing your character wonderfully. Tac is one of the few characters whose depth and ability to overcome the hardships has surprised us in the best way. You wrote beautifully, weren’t afraid to accept your mistakes and get hurt, fighting out the most logical solution, and always, always fighting to win. You showed that chances of survival on your own are just as high as in a pack, and we thank you for being a part of this. Congratulations on making it to the top five and do remember your automatic benefits should you choose to come back for next year.

FACE-OFF: Atlas & Tac

CAPITOL: Disregarding the last post, Atlas, the trident sinks down into the back of Tac's left thigh, and the deep wound makes Tac's pulse falter somewhat when he brings the sword up. It slashes through the right side of Atlas's bodysuit, ripping it and drawing a cut, not too deep. The trident is still piercing Tac's leg to the sand. Atlas's turn.
ATLAS: Letting out a pained shout, Atlas's body jerked as the sword cut into the side. It was hot and he could already feel the blood trickling down his side, which only further angered him. Baring his teeth and clenching his jaw tight, Atlas released the net, opting to reach back for his second trident and drive it toward Tac's throat as he leaned his body weight into the trident lodged in the boy's thigh.
TAC: He grit his teeth in response to the pain he felt from the pressure from the trident lodged in his thigh. Predicting a counter-strike at such close proximity, TAC grasped his short sword with two hands with a mighty grip and threw his sword up and ahead of him to parry and possibly even deflect Atlas's imminent counterattack.
CAPITOL: From his advantageous position over Tac, Atlas managed to lodge the second trident into his throat, barely going off track by the attempt of the sword at deflecting it. The trident to the throat causes in an immediate death. Tac, feel free to write your death para.

FACE-OFF: Titus & Vita & Decima

Decima: She grunted in pain at the feeling of her hair being yanked downwards. But that brought her closer to Vita, and gave her another opportunity to strike. Quickly, she whipped up her right hand that held the knife and swung to jam it inside Vita's stomach and twist hard. Decima's other hand, still gripping the spear, pushed it into her side further with as much force as she could.
VITA: Vita grunted in pain as the blade dug into her skin, but didn't let go of the girl's hair. She saw what Decima wanted to do with the knife, so she pressed her foot to the girl's arm to the ground, stopping her from moving it. She quickly grabbed her axe from the belt with her other hand and tried to dig it into the girl's neck.
TITUS: After throwing the blade, Titus quickly realized he could no longer see. One eye was completely functional but the other was filled with blood and all he saw was darkness. He felt the excruciating pain from his eye but kept on powering through. Realizing that Decima and Vita were both distracted, Titus took careful aim and through the blade he'd pulled from his eye aiming towards Vita's spine.
CAPITOL: Vita, you weren't able to reach your foot high up enough to push Decima's arm onto the ground, but you manage to hold off the attack of the knife anyway. The spear drove inside you further, too far, at the same time as Titus's blade misses your spine and drives into the back of your neck instead. Your body cannot hold off any longer, so the axe slips from your fingers and you fall down onto your knees. You may go ahead and write your death para. After Vita, it's Decima's turn.

FACE-OFF: Atlas & Tac

CAPITOL: Both attacks are successful. The sand hits Atlas in the face just as the prongs of the trident cause Tac's knees to buckle and fall to the ground. Atlas's turn.
ATLAS: Atlas didn't react quickly enough to shield his eyes from the spray of sand that flew towards his face. Letting out an angry shout he blinked hard and squinted through the grime -- sand in the eyes was no new sensation for him. With a fluid motion, as the other boy went down, Atlas flicked flick his wrist and cast out his net (keeping hold of one end in case he needed to drag the net or the boy back) and slammed down his trident with the other hand.
TAC: The pain surged from the back of his left knee and ran all the way up and through his entire body, easily shadowing the pain from his sprained ankle. He felt onto his knees. With Atlas' shout as a confirmation of his successful attack, he faced Atlas and planted his right foot against the ground and dislodged the great trident from his bleeding leg with a great (yet painful) yank. He whipped then whipped it up and towards the Atlas, but more importantly, the net.

[ Ah! Mega sorry about that! I was under the impression that the initial trident was thrown and not stabbed! That definitely changes things a bit. Guess I was just confused due to TAC and Atlas' relative location to each other? In that case, I would like to fix my last post to have TAC take the short sword in his right hand and swing the sword like an axe towards Atlas' mid-section what with them being in such close proximity n' all. ]

There is some confusion about your last posts. Remember, you are only allowed one attack movement per post. Please reply to this with clarification of what your move was. From what we have understood:

Atlas cast out his net over Tac—his eyes are irritated due to the sand—and at the same time sank the trident down into Tac. Please specify which part of his body you aimed at.
Tac, while kneeling, turned around and propped up his right foot and attempted to dislodge the trident. You must remember that Atlas has not let go off the trident; he did not use it as a spear, but more as a dagger, and it still holding onto it. Unless you fight off his grip, which isn’t possible from your position on your knees, you cannot take it out that easily.

Please reply to this post with fixes and/or clarifications. Thank you.

FACE-OFF: Titus & Vita & Decima

CAPITOL: This time you're not so lucky, and Vita's blade goes straight into your left eye. You lose your balance somewhat and the pain is excruciating. Decima joins in. Decima's turn.
DECIMA: Approaching the Career girl from behind, Decima tried to remain as quiet and as much out of her view as possible. While she was distracted with the boy from Five, and she thought she was close enough, Decima charged forward, holding the spear head out a foot away from her body in an attempt to ram it through Vita's spine.
VITA: After watching the blade go into the boy's eye, Vita quickly turned around just to be surprised by the Decima trying to dig the spear into her. Vita dodged it as swiftly as she could, grabbing the girl by the hair and pulling her to the ground.
TITUS: Titus felt the blade go right into his eye. He reached up and pulled it out. Trying to fight through the pain, and reminding himself to be brave, TItus stood slowly and took the blade he found on the ground and flung it forward aiming towards Vita's back. He kept the other blade at the ready, ready to react if he so needed.
CAPITOL: Vita, you did not turn in time to fend off the spear completely, and it pierced through your side, injuring you further. Your grip on Decima's hair isn't that strong due to your wounded arm, but you manage to get her to double over. Titus, the blade in your eye caused you to go blind from all the blood pouring out from the vessels. Your aim is off, and the blade soars right next to Vita. Behind you, the water is lapping at the sand. Decima's turn.

FACE-OFF: Titus & Vita & Decima

CAPITOL: As soon as everybody's instincts kick in, Titus starts running towards Decima, towards the Eastern side of the beach, at the same time as Vita starts running at Titus, attempting to attack. Since Vita is the attacker, she will go first. Please start your post from where you left off with the last one.
VITA: Vita quickly put her gaze on Titus, setting him as her target. She started running towards him, quickly getting out her slingshot at the same time. She put the axe in the slingshot's place and got out a metal blade in seconds. She put the blade on the holder and let it go, aiming for the boy's throat.
TITUS: After catching Decima's eye he knew he needed to run towards her. He sped off straight away being wary of his surroundings. He spotted someone running towards him and he quickly turned his head to see them taking aim. Titus ducked down to avoid what was being thrown his way.
CAPITOL: Lucky duck. The metal blade zoomed over your head, but you find yourself at a standstill where Vita is diagonally from you in a way that if you keep moving forward, she will be close enough to kill you definitely. Behind you the shore is a couple of feet away. Vita's turn.
VITA: Vita cursed under her breath as she took out another blade and placed it on the holder, this time aiming for his left eye.
TITUS: Titus opened his eyes to see the blade had missed, but also to see Vita pulling out another. Titus backed up quickly, careful not to lose his footing and facing Vita all the while. He only paused to pick up the blade that had soared over his head. As he continued toward the water.

CAPITOL: Tac's first movement is to turn and start running back North towards the jungle, and Atlas decides to run over and attack him, and so a chase begins. Since Atlas is the attacker, he will go first. Please start your post from where you left off the last one.
ATLAS: With a final glance at Vita, Atlas took off after the half blind kid holding a sword. He was used to the sand and it was easy for him to sprint across it but, of course, the guy started retreating back to what was left of the woods. Net ready in one hand and trident #1 in the other, Atlas ran after him as fast as he could, always glancing around every few steps to keep out for any surprises. Unwilling to throw one of his precious tridents, Atlas waited until he thought he was close enough to the boy before using the length of the trident to swing the prongs (from his blind side) at the back of his knees and hopefully knock him over.
TAC: Without an answer from the other male, he figured his best move was to head into familiar territory, i.e. the woods behind him, but not without a little ace up his sleeve. Before taking off, he grabbed a handful of sand in his left hand. Far more alert to sounds than most others, the sound of steps transitioning from sand to underbrush alerted him of another's presence. Upon seeing Atlas, he whipped the hand of sand straight for his face before setting his sights on a claimable tree.
CAPITOL: Both attacks are successful. The sand hits Atlas in the face just as the prongs of the trident cause Tac's knees to buckle and fall to the ground. Atlas's turn.
